Excel finance personal template
In these tough economic times, people and small businesses often find it difficult to meet their short term obligations like utility bills, paying off creditors and other accrued expenses. This Excel finance personal template will help you keeping your expenses under a bay. Simple template that is great to keep track of personal finances. The template will calculate your total income and your total expenses and tell you how much you have left or how short you are.
The excel finance personal template below is to help you to manage the expenses. It is difficult to keep a track of expenses if you do not make a record of them. This free template is very helpful since it provides you with the general outline where you can track down your expenses, calculate your income and determine the shortfall or surplus for the given month.
On the top right of the document, a three column table is drawn that mentions the total income, total expenses and Shortfall/ surplus amount.
The first section is the income section. It provides you with enough space to list all income from possible sources. For example income from salary, income from rented house, income in the form of dividends and more. Anything that results in receiving cash must be mentioned in the income source. The main income heads shown in this template are:
- Income 1
- Income 2
- Extra Income
The second section is the expense section which is much more detailed. It provides different heads for all possible expenses.
The first head is the Housing expense. The main expenses highlighted in the template under this category include:
- Rent or Mortgage
- Repair & Maintenance
The next expense head is the Car expense that includes:
- Vehicle 1 payment
- Vehicle 2 payment
- Insurance vehicle 1
- Insurance vehicle 2
- Repair & Maintenance
Food expenses make the third expense head on the template which includes the amount spent on:
- Dining out
The fourth and fifth expense heads include all the expenses incurred on loans, debts and taxes which include the payments for credit cards, personal loans and state, federal and local taxes.
In case you incur an expense other than those mentioned above, you can list it out in the last expense head i.e. miscellaneous expenses like hobbies and fun.
The income is shown in green while expense is shown in the red colour to distinguish between the amounts. A separate box is provided to insert the total of each income and expense head which makes the calculation easier.
It also provides you an option to insert header and footer to specify the type of document or you may enter the month for which you have prepared this expense sheet.
