Work estimate free template
Prior to handing out a project to any party, a work estimate is demanded, in order to ensure whether the estimate is acceptable to hand over the entire project to selected provider or if other parties must be contacted for estimates with more favorable terms and pricing.
The work estimate invoice is usually calculated by estimating the cost of each activity that will be carried out as part of the project, in a work breakdown structure, which are then summed up and appropriate overheads are added.
Vendors are often asked to create these work estimates to give the customers an idea regarding how much cost will be incurred on completing the project and how long the project will take to complete. Estimating and calculating costs for the entire project is a very tedious task and creating the work estimate invoice from a scratch can make the whole process much difficult to be handled by a single person. Our Work estimate free template provided below makes the whole process much easier, simpler and error free. This free template will help you in creating an estimate that is accurate, thorough and professional in a way that will make a good lasting impression on the customer about your company. We hope this template will help you save time and money.
Description of the free work estimate template
On the top right corner of the document, the estimate number must be mentioned. It serves the same purpose like invoice number on the sales invoice. The date is also mentioned when the estimate is calculated and issued to the customer. The customer’s information must also be mentioned in order to make it clear for which work the estimate has been drawn.
The work estimate free template is made of two different sections including:
Project descriptionEnough space is provided to describe the project in detail. You may mention the activities that will be carried out for completing the project successfully, the schedule for project completion and the help that will be hired to complete the project in time.
Project detailsThe second section includes four-column table to describe project in details. The first column is to describe each individual task to be completed for the project. The next column calculates the hours that the contractor will spend on that specific task. The hours are then multiplied with the price charged by the contractor per hour to yield the total charges applicable to each line item. The ‘Total’ column is aggregated to yield the subtotal, to which the sales tax and shipping and handling charges are added to give the total estimate.
Add your estimate conditions and your payment conditions on the bottom of this free template. You can edit and customize this template with Microsoft Word to fit you needs.
